I do not own a Rolex Submariner, but I see and know something fancy brand. Potential buyers should know that Rolex is very aggressive about banning the sale of their watches on the Internet and through other paths are not allowed. Rolex does not discount, nor do they allow their ad off, especially on their “base” models: Submariner, Explorer, GMT, and Sea Dweller. Consequently, many dealers do not deal in gray market Rolexes, or spot the serial numbers to disguise the origin of watches. Do not buy from dealers, not only the dubious origin of the guard, but not service Rolex watches purchased from non-traditional sources. Customers should be looking for high quality fakes, some with parts discarded from the real Rolex watches.
I noticed that there is a Rolex Submariner advertised on Amazon for more than its current price of retail. While I have full confidence that the operating through Amazon sellers are honest and legitimate, I encourage potential buyers to know the brand, the dealer and the history of the clock. When you’re spending thousands on a watch, you are buying something more than a wrist ornament. You are buying an image, but more importantly, you’re buying a nice piece of enginering made manifest in the clock movement. Educate yourself about the clock and his legacy – you’re buying the story.

I have owned a Rolex Submariner since 1992. Best watch I ever had. Only needed to have it serviced one time.
This was being sold by a street vendor in Pohang, South Korea for $10.00. My friends bought it and they did last at least one year. One of my friends went to the Philippines and it got stolen during a robbery. The robbers couldn’t tell the original from that made in South Korea.
You cannot go wrong with a Rolex, and the Submariner is no exception. When I decided to buy a Rolex, I obviously put an extensive amount of thought into my final decision. I wanted something clean-looking that coordinated with my suits and wasn’t overly bulky. The stainless steel finish is glorious, especially after a quick once-over with a bit of jewelry cleaner.
More than a status symbol, the Rolex Submariner is a genuinely fantastic timepiece that evokes professionalism and a classic sense of taste and style. It goes with everything, clothing-wise, from the business casual to the snappiest designer suit. Sometimes the product DOES justify the price, and a Rolex belongs squarely in that category.
I bought a good imitation Rolex Submariner Oyster Perpetual Date wrist watch when I was in Davao City, Mindanao, Philippines, on Thursday 30 July 2009. I only paid 1,000 PHP for it (about 15 euros). I bargained it down in price from 2,500 PHP because I knew it was an imitation. But it is a good watch for 15 euros. It is self-winding. It feels a bit heavy.
It was sold to me by a street-hawker in the Aldovinco area of Davao city.
Beware of buying imitation Rolex watches from dubious sources on the internet.
It is better to go to an authorised Rolex dealer if you want the genuine article and if money is no object to you.
For this kind of money I expected the dam watch to keep a correct time. This thing is always 10 min behind?!!! I took it in for warranty repair 3 times already for the same issue. If it was a car, under lemon law, I would have my money back by now
It’s a great looking watch but only if it could have done what it was suppose to do.
